Reiki Healing
Rachel is a fully qualified Reiki Master, trained in the ancient Japanese healing method. Reiki (pronounced "Ray-key") is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, an energy which is all around us.
Although Reiki Healing has been known and used for thousands of years, it is even now not fully understood. It has been studied scientifically and is capable of being measured, yet it does not conform to the generally accepted rules of physical science.
There is no belief system attached to Reiki so anyone can receive or learn to give a Reiki treatment - the only prerequisite is the desire to be healed.
Which conditions can Reiki help?
It is possible to heal at any level of being: physical, mental, emotional or spiritual. Acute injuries can be helped to heal very quickly but more chronic illness takes longer. In some cases such as terminal illness, there is not enough time for the progress of the disease to be reversed. However, in such cases there is usually great benefit and enhancement of the quality of life giving a sense of peace and acceptance during the time remaining.
Reiki flows to the areas of need, soothing pain and supporting the body's natural ability to heal itself. Reiki restores balance in one's life.
How will I feel after the treatment?
Most people feel very relaxed and at peace after Reiki treatments, although Reiki can also stir up emotions as part of the healing process. You may feel tired, but sometimes full of energy. Some people also experience a healing reaction, such as headaches, cold or flu-like symptoms. These symptoms are normally of short duration.
The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from Rachel is a very simple process. You simply lie down on a couch and relax. If you are unable to lie down the treatment can be given in a sitting position, the main thing is for you to be as comfortable as possible. There is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki will pass through anything.
Rachel acts as a channel or transformer for this energy and transmits it to you to stimulate your own natural healing resources. The approach is holistic in that it aims to 'make whole' at all levels of being and bring body, mind and spirit into a harmonious relationship. Causes are addressed rather than symptoms.
The healing energy is transmitted, sometimes in the form of a light touch, or with Rachel's hands a short distance from your body. This will usually be experienced as a pleasant sensation and registered as a warm, tingling, pulsing or sometimes cooling energy. You may feel very little, although many people experience a sense of well being and relaxation - some even fall asleep! Sometimes a treatment can be energising: there is no right or wrong way to experience Reiki.
Although no guarantees can ever be given, most clients experience some form of benefit from the treatment, often in ways they had not expected at the outset. A frequent benefit is the relaxation induced which allows stress to be gently released and sleeping patterns improved.
Healing is a potentially powerful therapy with no side effects which can be used on its own or in conjunction with other treatments, including orthodox medical treatments. No faith or particular belief is required as evidenced by the success of the treatment on young children, animals and plants. However, a positive attitude and expectation can increase receptivity to the healing energy.
Each treatment lasts approximately one hour, and costs £35
There are a number of factors relating to the energy of the places where we live or work which can contribute significantly to ill health or negate the curative effects of any treatment
Some examples are:
- Disturbed earth energies (geopathic stress)
- Electromagnetic stress
- Energy from traumatic past events (e.g. battles, suicides)
- Disturbed spiritual energies
These problems can give rise to depression and negativity and can compromise health by undermining the immune system.
Rachel is used to helping clients with problems like this and has developed techniques to identify and deal with many of the energetic problems which relate to places. This work can normally be done without the necessity for a site visit since remote dowsing and healing techniques are used.
